Ok, I FINALLY re-installed my Acme Audio cryogenically treated duplex. Since our move in June I've been using the stock unit. It was nothing special but not in poor shape either. WoW! All I can say (like the first time I installed it) is these are a wonderful addition to my audio system and benefit my musical enjoyment. And, IMO a VERY cost effective upgrade ($35) that I think would benefit most systems. Some how it manages to "free up" the system allowing greater treble vibrancy and shimmer, and at the same time smoothening those digital nasties. Bass response has a good bit more weight. The presentation is more forward as well. I was thinking that vocals were a bit meek and recessed, now they are more prominent and focused. With the enhanced treble performance I notice more subtle details emerging from the background that were either less stable or non-existent before. Bells, triangles cymbals all benefit. With one of these you may not need a super tweeter on your horn, and for us SET users it will allow the natural energy of percussion instruments to be more freshed out and real. For the conspiracy-seekers, I have no answers that will arrest your suspicions, I can only report my observations. This would a good product to rotate amongst interested members for evaluation. I'd be willing to purchase one for this "test" as I'm sure one or more of you will want to buy it after installing IYS.

Damn Ward should put a pair of these in his new PSC distribution block.

I remain a non-believer, but thanks for your observations. :p:

Acme Audio Cryogenic duplex  What is that exactly?

Yea, what Thor said. Other than Acme being the prefered brand of the Coyote and the fact that someone gave the thing a cold bath, what is it and what does it do?

This is a duplex.

ACME Audio takes a 15a (or 20a) Pass & Seymour outlet / duplex and silver plates it. Then it is cryogenically treated. That's it. How I came about one of them? After reading a number of very positive reports on their benefits I bid on one in the AA fund drive a couple of years ago. I think I got a deal in that I paid like $20 for it. I figured I'd try it and see firsthand what all the fuss was about. I was very impressed when initially installed IMS and now again after living without for 6 months and re-installing in my new listening room.

But I do have Ted's autographed ball, got it about 10 years ago, in person, in Kansas City.

Did Ted ever live in a duplex?

I did and I have heard of Ted Williams. Does that count? Oh and since it was in the Colorado Rockies it was cold there too.

Seriously though , I have been looking at Wattgates with the idea of the deep cold. They have gold plated OFC which I think know one else does. They sure aint cheap!

What happened to his other ball and why would he sign it?
