View Full Version : Any other bikers here? Rice rocketeers included
heathkit tv 03-06-2005, 08:41 PM Me, I've got a Hardley Ableson and a couple of Gilroy Indians......and (shudders) an old Hon-doody. What do you kids have?
BTW, am looking for a 4 speed trans for a electric start alternator Shovel FLH ('76)...anyone know of a reasonably priced one?
Anthony
Andyman 03-06-2005, 10:02 PM Sold my 1982 Suzuki GS-1100GKZ about 3-4 years ago, ending, perhaps temporarily, my 25+ year adventure with motorcycles. I just didn't want to keep it if I never had the time to ride. I rather spend those free hours with the kids than driving 2 hours to find some new, unridden road. Prolly over 100,000 miles driven and at least 6 bikes all told.
Never owned a Harley (and I'm from Milwaukee!!) as they never floated my boat. Too big, too heavy, too slow, and bad handling weren't high on my list of qualities I looked for in a bike.
EchoWars 03-06-2005, 10:08 PM Mine... Give me a few days and I'll post a pic of the real thing.

Dr. Strangelove 03-06-2005, 11:10 PM I'm not a biker, but I've been thinking about getting a 1953 Vincent Black Shadow (series C) as a restoration project. My best effort would probably be to go to England, and maybe get Trawlerman to help navigate me through the countryside, looking for parts and pieces...
Why a Vincent? One damn cool bike, IMHO...
Doc
heathkit tv 03-06-2005, 11:17 PM Sharp ride, but where do the training wheels attach? :-)
Anthony
Dr. Strangelove 03-06-2005, 11:27 PM If I were lucky enough to get the parts to restore or build one, I would be to scared to ride it<g>.

If you don't know Honda history too well, it's an RC30.
.....drool....
Johnny 03-08-2005, 09:02 AM I had the Honda Interceptor myself, 85. I miss it very badly - Also had 93 Ninja 600, 80 suzuki GS 1000, and Yamaha Maxim 86. The latter I bought for my wife, although she never rode it, well once.
I'm currently bikeless   But I'm looking into a Kawi ZX7 - Older 94 model - Which is plenty of bike for me. I would love to have one of those Bonnevilles myself.
Cant wait for riding weather !!!!

I borrowed this photo, mine is a 1975 with chrome fenders, packed away for winter.
We've had a ball putting around on this little guy :thmbsp:

Don C 03-08-2005, 10:28 AM I bought this little Dax and the Honda 90 at a garage sale nearby. I sold the Dax to a guy in Belgium, I still have the Honda 90. It's still in that crate. This is my insurance against the next gas crunch.

grumpy 03-08-2005, 11:20 AM This ones a little bit cleaner then mine which I sadly do not ride anymore.
Donny 03-08-2005, 03:56 PM OMG Don wow!!!! I love old bikes! I did buy a fairly clean suzuki ts 125 at a garage sale but nothing like what you have. btw I sold the suzuki back to the 1st owner,I fixed it the day I bought it then rode it to the first owners house to get the title and he wanted it lol I made a lil money :) but mis the bike
Andyman 03-08-2005, 04:52 PM Here's what my Suzuki sorta looked like. I can't find any pics here, but this is the model.
I removed the factory fairing and installed a Windjammer. My seat was solid black and I rode it w/o the totebox on back. I really loved the way that baby looked, but it killed me to have it just sitting in my garage, and in the way.
Maybe another later on???????????
