If you booked a hotel room for the fest through any other means then a phone call directly to the hotel ( such as Computer or Hotels.com ) then you will NOT be staying on the same floor as all the other AK members.

I reserved one whole floor of the hotel and in order to get on this floor you will have had to booked via a phone call and inform them you are there for AudioKarma.

I know you guys like Ken Rimney and Ray plus many other booked rooms with other discounts like AARP or AAA or military discounts. These rooms will not be on the same floor.

Sorry but My contract with the hotel states the price on the Fest website and you prolly got it cheaper but that mean I have no control over your room. Meaning I cannot help you if there is a problem

So if you want to be on the same floor as the rest of us be sure to mention you are coming in for AudioKarma.

For those that booked cheaper rates Please send me your names and I can have your rooms changed to the same floor we are staying on.

Some of the names I changed already are

Bigmacc
Reyneman
Kamakiri
BillF
Retrostereo
Army

There were many other names that I knew but unless you give me permission to change your reservation I will NOT.

Remember if you want me to change your room message me with the full name that the reservation was made under telling me that you want it changed.

When I read messages like this, I am reminded how much work it takes for a guy like Grumpy to do this Fest planning up to his standard. I mean, most guys wouldn't go this extra mile!

Nice job.

Just made my room reservation for Saturday night. It could have been smoother. You're SOL if the right person has gone home for the day -- otherwise they don't know WHAT the rate is supposed to be! 4th floor is right, isn't it? The gal I talked to, Cassandra, said there were a NUMBER of reservations for the event, with a rate of something like $70. I said no, a rate of $58.50 had been established. She said she would like to get that straightened out for a number of existing reservations, and that maybe David should call and discuss it.

Sorry if that's frustrating news, Grumpy. Maybe just one more phone call?

Hey Grumps,
I see I'm on your list of reservations that you changed. The only thing is that I did get a hold of the hotel sales rep by phone and told her I was with the AudioKarma group and quoted her the room rate that was quoted here, but she said it was $69 a night. That's no big deal, but there seems to be some obvious confusion as far as the hotel goes? Oh well, I'm booked, and thank you Grumps for getting it straightened out, you da man! :thmbsp:

I think I'm all squared away, but the final solution was to call the hotel, and when I asked for Reservations I said "Do NOT TRANSFER MY CALL TO THE NATIONAL NUMBER!". That way you stay inside the hotel staff, and they know about AKFest. If you get the 800 number people in bumfuck Wyoming you're sol.

I Guaranty not one of Audiokarma's guest at the hotel will pay more then 58.50 or I will go absolutely ballistic on those freaking 2nd grade graduates that work there !

I apologize to any AK member for any inconvenience this Idiotic Hotel has caused you. It will be straightened out !

I meant to follow up on my post. They promised to call me back about the rates, and didn't, so I called yesterday (Saturday) morning. First I got transferred to Sales and Catering voicemail, so I called back. THIS time I was told the rate was $59 plus tax, so they seem to have straightened it out.
