I'm putting out feelers to see if it would be worthwhile to organize a New England gathering. I'm in VT, which may be too far off the beaten path, but let's hear from those of you in the area who might have some interest...

Well, I'm in Mass. and I know there are a few more in this area who are AK members, Mark Hardy, Kerozene, Joell, JoVinyl right off the top of my head.
Depending on when and where I would be interested.

Let me know if I can do anything to help organize.

I'm also in Maine and would be interested in attending.

Never been to one. I think, I Know, It would be awesome to see all the different audio gear.

Sounds like a good time.

I ain't in New England, but when I FINALLY get rid of this crutch, I'm gonna throw a big-ass party w/lotsa beer, whiskey, loose women of lax morals, a regulation Bon-type fire, & when everybody gets good & mellow I'm gonna wrap this damn crutch around a tree. It has to be the most singularly aggravating thing I've EVER had to deal with.-Sandy G.

I'm just outside of Burlington, VT. Just off of I-89.

I have a 33X14 listening room. I also have 17 acres of land available for bonfire and cookout activities. A small pond in the backyard entertains my dogs and those who imbibe a bit more than I would choose to. I have a full (regulation size) basketball court here for recreational purposes.

And my driveway is 500 feet long, so let the volume knob fall where it may...

Sound like fun?

IN Boston "Metro West", more or less (I-495 corridor).
There are more than a few tube hifi folks in MA/NH/VT if that sort of thing floats your boat. See, e.g.,

So, when are we gonna do this? I'm all in and ready, soon as this damn snow is gone!!
I'll bring Ron if he can find his way to my house.

MRH, you're about 4+ hours out, not too bad. That's a nice site, spent a couple of hours there looking around. I don't know about the rest, I'll take all of the toobs you want to bring, I'm addicted to the glow!!

Thor, Tripqzon, and you guys from Maine, come on down! Good food, good beverages, what more could you ask for?

Sandy, come on up, Georgia ain't so far away. I'll make ya some biscuits and gravy so you won't miss home. (I'd make grits but I still haven't figured out what you southerners do with them?)

Considering that Spring doesn't really arrive in Vermont until about June.....
...perhaps April? Late April when tax season madness has passed, and some of us have mad spending money from our refund checks? Money for gas, snacks, tube dampers and the like. ;)
I dunno, I think late April or early May makes sense. I still have 2 feet of snow in the front yard that I'm certain will last through early April!

I'd like to do it it the summer, June or so, that way the woman and I can hop in the Miata and make a weekend out of it ;)

I would bring one of the large blue cases. The blue cases hold LP's. Two of the Black CD cases,The two black turntable cases. The black rack case. I can do the four JBL's. I have Stands and folding tables for set up. I would rent a van. Anybody coming up 95. A hand loading and unloading would help. safe parking here. You can ride up and back. This could happen. :scratch2: :scratch2: :smoke:

SM, This is your baby so we'll let you pick the day. So long as it's on a weekend and doesn't interfere with AKFest, I will make it!
Other than that, the more time we have before the date will allow better planning,(read more members possibly).

Blackwatch, what part of RI? My brother jsut became a sheriff in Westerly last year.

I agree that the more time we have the better attendance is likely to be. And considering that it would be nice to make use of the outdoors, late May to early June makes the most sense. That would allow us to make use of the DJ system. ;)

Let me know your thoughts. And be prepared to suffer at the hands of my all solid state (GASP) system....

Out of respect for members who have been on the board longer and the ones most familiar to you. I step back a bit. Again I am not sure how to picture what the ingrediants are to put what you want together. A social event where we met other members of this board or something else. How can I help.

My suggestion: since StereoMods is gracious enough to offer to host this bash I think he should throw out a few dates and then we can hash them around and come up with day.

Whad'ya all think?
