Sony KDF-50WE655 LCD RPTV

There was a small gnat sized insect flying around on the INSIDE of the screen!

:wtf: Did Sony not think to seal this thing up tight enough to keep bugs out?
It was tiny, but when it was flying around it looked like a Fly was in front of the screen.
It eventually went away (died?) but I'm worried another one could get in and possibly get into something bad like the LCD or projector lens!

Anyone else had this problem and is there anything that will help keep the bugs out?

no set sealed that tight. openings are required for heat dissapation.it will also provide
entry to critters small enough to gain access.

the lamp itself is sealed , but the enclosure still requires ventilation.

far worse things to worry about on this miserable little rock.. smile, u literally had a bug in ur set ..... 73 de hamop

even if the lamp wernt sealed, if a bug got in it, it would literally fry upon powerup. the UV would kill it.

You could always move to South America where the bugs are much LARGER...!!

Well the buggy disappeared or died that same night so no harm done.
I was mostly concerned he might die somewhere where it would matter.
This is my first non-crt TV and I don't really have any desire to start poking around inside. Wonder if the warranty covers bugs? :scratch2:
