Fred, when are we going to have a 'north' meet?

Who's hosting this one, the address doesn't ring a bell - is it you?

Yes, Russ this one is at Fred's casa. You think you might make it? I could bring your speakers. If not, I will ship these to you. They are done.

As for a north meet, would you be interested in holding it at your place? Not being pushy, just asking. Although someone else may have already signed up for it. As event coordinator, Fred, can verify but I think the next meet is due to be held around Dallas. We try to rotate the Dallas/Houston/SanAntonio triangle.

Dallas is next on the rotation schedule, and any Saturday in June would be fine. I suggest we plan a joint meeting with the Dallas group. I'll post a message on the Dallas Yahoo Group. :thmbsp:

Last one in Dallas only Dallas people showed. And it wasn't DAC, it was Bottlehead.

Good point, Thatch. It seems easier to entice a Dallas bottlehead to drive 270 miles south than a Houston, Austin, or San Antonio bottlehead to drive the same distance to the north. But I was looking at the photos from the Terrell meeting and could identify about half a dozen from the southern wing of the cult at that one. We'll raise this flag at the April meeting and see if there's a response.

I know I'd make the drive to one in the Dallas area. Russ's house would be even closer

Final Reminder - Our next meeting is at my house in Houston on April 16th from noon till six. If you'r an early bird anytime after 10 am is ok. A map is posted on our web site at http://wardsweb.org/LSB/ The directions are ok to the subdivision (It's Lakes On Eldridge), but all those twisting streets after you get in can be confusing, so here are some more detailed directions:

From I-10 or 290 exit onto Eldridge Parkway. Drive about 4.5 miles to the entrance to Lakes on Eldridge subdivision. It's gated, and I'll notify the security officer that I'm expecting company and to direct you right in. After you drive through the entrance gate turn LEFT every time you come to a stop sign. After four stop signs (and four left turns) you are facing my house which is half a block up the street. It's 12110 Medina Bend Ln, and my phone is 713-466-9631. (Suggetion - Print this and place it in the glove box of the car you will be driving)

I have invited a speical guest to this meeting. It's Vlad Bazelkov of Audio Mirror, maker of hand assembled high end vacuum tube audio equipment. Vlad's web site is http://audiomirror.com/

Sounds fun, maybe me and Thatch can cruise down for this one.

As far as a Dallas meet, I'm happy to host. I've got new goodies, even since the last Dallas Audio Club meet that you attended Fred.

Cheers,
Russ

Sounds like a good time, but I can't make it :thumbsdn:. I'll be up to my elbows and other body parts O/H the auto trans in my ole benz (~350,000 mi.). Reverse gear doesn't work very well until the trans gets hot :worried:.

Next time :thmbsp:

Cheers!

After seeing and hearing Chris' ASL 845's in my listening room driving my speakers I lost all willpower and bought these

You sir are a WILD MAN! Guess if you didn't have a use for the Sonic Frontier before, you really don't now. Lets not forget all that Assemblage gear you have, all the Bottlehead gear, the Ella amp, and that DK monster. It's good to be you.

Sold the Sonic Frontiers to a fellow Houston Audio Society member. With the Magnepans sold and most speakers in the house greater than 95dB efficient I didn't need 110 watts anymore. Just as a woman can't be too rich or too thin, a bottlehead can't have too many amps or too many speakers. :lmao:

One can never have too much gear.
Those are nice amps, excellent purchase.
In addition, you did a great job with the food for the lunch! :thmbsp:

Thanks, John. I also scored this beauty which some wealthy Houston Audio Society member forgot to take with him along with a Cardas Golden Reference power cord. Must be one of those guys who has so many amps he can't keep track of them all. I'd like to keep it but my conscience forced me to donate it to the local charity thrift shop. Now tell us, exactly what amps do you have? :scratch2:

Fred:
I am one very sick individual. I buy something and then I can just not let it go. I just love this stuff, it is just too much fun to play around with. If I had a spare $42,000.00 I would go after this one: Item number: 5769124076, which is on the Bay at the moment. But, had to pay Uncle Sam his money on the 15th - :whip:
