Here she goes, bolly 03-18-2005, 06:54 PM getting better though, bolly 03-18-2005, 07:03 PM even better still, bolly 03-18-2005, 07:42 PM a JAN 6U8A tube EchoWars 03-18-2005, 07:48 PM Set your white balance for Tungsten and try those indoor non-flash shots again. zincman 03-18-2005, 07:55 PM Good first try....but to heck with the pics....luv the Sherwood!!!!!!!!!!!!! bolly 03-18-2005, 08:05 PM thanks for the tip EW. How many megapixels is that thing?? zincman 03-18-2005, 08:56 PM Lookin good bolly 03-18-2005, 08:59 PM Hey Andy 3.2mp, 4x optical zoom. That's all i know, can't even figger out the tungsten effect yet. I'll learn. ckelly 03-18-2005, 09:10 PM What EW said, is to set the white balance to incandescent (it usually shows a pic of a lightbulb on the camera´s menu, most likely it will be a manual control). Nice pix Also, practice makes perfect ;) CK bolly 03-18-2005, 09:13 PM thanks ck, helps when you've got nice subjects. :D bolly 03-18-2005, 09:26 PM a weird Leak Mini Sandwich :scratch2: danj 03-29-2005, 01:43 AM the Thorens and the Monster SPEC-2 Bitchin' setup! What kinda mat is on your Thorens? ProAc_Fan 03-29-2005, 02:08 AM Just use your own eyes to set the white balance. Look at the LCD screen and shuffle through the choices. Whatever "looks" best is the right choice for you. Personally I find the tungsten setting to be much too warm under most lighting conditions. The AWB setting on your Canon is pretty useful. My advice when shooting anything stationary indoors is to use a tripod, use the camera in manual mode, no flash, and bracket the exposure. Hell you're not paying for film so take lots of pics at various shutter speeds and aperature settings and you'll find a diamond in there somewhere. Mike bolly 03-29-2005, 06:26 AM Bitchin' setup! The mat came with her when I scored her. A "Music Mat", Made in Canada. Hi Mike, I tried setting the WB, without any luck... update: I just, and I mean just figured out that you have to move the rotary Mode Select Switch out of AUTO to manipulate the WB effects. Now to start comparin' indoor shots... Gonna have to get a power adaptor for her, she eats batteries for breakfast! :D bolly 03-29-2005, 06:53 AM no flash...not bad, bolly 03-29-2005, 07:13 AM   bolly 03-29-2005, 07:46 AM learnin' , a cut/paste job from 2 different shots! Army 03-29-2005, 08:49 AM Looks like your getting the hang of it Greg  Sweet looking toys ya got there. Luv that big Sansui Amp :thmbsp: bolly 03-29-2005, 09:00 AM Thanks Army! That Sansui, she's a shweety! :D bolly 03-29-2005, 09:03 AM Slow shutter speed for still objects, fast shutter speed for moving ones? :scratch2: ojTHEd 03-29-2005, 09:52 AM That's right, Greg. That, and hold the camera STILL with slow shutter speed. Unless you want that "trails" effect. Of course, I'm sure you knew that. A tripod, even one of those mini ones you can pick up at Walgreens, would be good for that. bolly 03-29-2005, 12:58 PM sweet, thanks ojTHEd. Looks like I'll be keepin' my eyes peeled for some type of cheap tripod as well! ProAc_Fan 03-29-2005, 02:07 PM Oh and Greg get yourself some good photo imaging software too. You can fix almost any problems in a digital image. Mike bolly 03-29-2005, 02:14 PM Thanks for the tip Mike! Any opinion as to which one? I have MGI PhotoSuite 4, and whatever came with the camera... but I don't have a schmick! ProAc_Fan 03-29-2005, 02:31 PM Well there are free ones like irfanview but I'd recommend something more along the lines of Roxio's Photosuite or Jasc Paint Shop Pro 9. I use Adobe Photoshop CS myself but thats a rather intense program to learn just to do the basics with an image. Mike bolly 03-29-2005, 02:32 PM Good enough then, Thanks! :thmbsp: ojTHEd 03-29-2005, 03:49 PM Hey Bolly, good doesn't mean "spend money". I use Google's Picasa software for most every kind of tweaking or effects. Just grab it from www.picasa.com (http://www.picasa.com) - it's free! Of course, if you have to have some of that other software, I can probably get it for you. Just ask! bolly 04-03-2005, 10:07 AM Thanks ojTHEd, soon as figure my camera out... you'll be one of the first to know! :thmbsp: |
