Got at my local SA for $10.00 a few weeks ago. Starting to clean it up. The plastic window has broken into 3 pieces (pic does not show that) and the window is sorta dadoed to fit in. May be a challenge to fab a replacement window.
Local SA is shutting down as the rent was raised to level that they can not pay:( I got a lot of nice stuff there

:jawdrop: crap, that's one beefy motor. I have a GXC-730D, maybe I'll have to open her up and check it out.

I just picked up an Akai GXC-730D myself yesterday at a thrift store.
I was quite surprised at how much it weighed and that it has autoreverse!

My 730D is not working correctly, so it sounds like a$$. I also have a 750D and I think it sounds great!
Fixed the broken window. Faxed the measurements of the window to jmkdisplays.com and had them fab me a NEW window. $40.00, but they were FAST!!!!!! Will take it down to the office in the morn and relpace the Pioneer CT-F700 that will come home for some more TLC. Tape is surging and Rich has given me some things to look at. Will see how this stands up to playing the cassette tapes I have been getting at the TSs...
