Man, the bezel under the rotating start/stop/rwd control knob in my Sony Superscope R2R just desintegrated in my fingers as I tried to fast fwd.

Can a new one be made?

Also, VintageTX,,,do you have an interest in a free copy of a Sony Superscope Sterecorder Service Manual? I have one that I can copy.

The material seems like metal,,,it must be metal to have lasted this long,,,it feels like lead,,dark grey metal.. The little piece I am holding seems pretty heavy.

Ten bucks says it's that cheap pot metal stuff like taillights bezels used to be made from back in the day. I personally don't know of any way to fix it. Just my two cents.

White Se, I don't have any knobs like that one...
Try post a "wanted" at Yahoo's reel to reel forum, maybe someone can help.

Get thyself to the hardware store and pick up some JB Weld. Patch her up. If need be it can be sanded and painted too.

JB Weld is one of the few things that seems to adhere to plastics well, as long as the surfaces are clean.

If that a faux-chrome on that trim piece you might have trouble making it look original though..
