Is anyone familiar with the NEC aua-6000e amp? I'm having trouble finding any kind of information or specs on it, not even watts per channel. My yamaha cr-640 is acting up and the NEC could be an inexpensive backup for the turntable. Any info would help, thanks

Very similar, that looks like the aua-8000, I've found a bit of info on the 8000, but nothing on the 6000. The one I'm looking at looks pretty much the same without the meters

Nice stuff. As you can see, the JP domestic name was Authentic/Diango.
Maybe one of these is closer?

Here's a link with some pics from an expired ebay auction, but no real specs included http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NEC-AUA-6000E-Stereo-Integrated-Amplifier-AMP-Great-/270656060196

Well, it looks a lot like the MCS 3837 - which was built by NEC for MCS (JC Penney). Doesn't help with finding specs, but based on the MCS model number, I'd say she was about 37 WPC :)

I have the MCS 3865 equivalent to the NEC aua-8000e, which is rated at 65 WPC.

Thanks, thats the one, and it gives me something else to google. They're asking $30, I may see what I can get it for.

Yep - The NEC AUA-6000E is the same as the MCS 3837. let me dig through my pile of notes - I think I printed out a newspaper ad from Singapore featuring the AUA-6000E when it was new back in 1978-9.

For now, I do remember that it is 35 wpc from 20-20kHz with less than 0.1% THD.

I have the MCS 3847 (45wpc) and one NEC AUA-8000E and two MCS 3865s (both 65wpc). Good stuff

Nice, I'd buy an AUA-8000e just because it looks cool. I emailed about the 6000, just waiting to hear back so I can have a closer look.

Well, the only other specs for the amp the ad had was the Intermodulation Distortion: 0.1% @ 8 ohms, and the power bandwidth: 5-40k Hz.

It didn't give the phono s/n ratio or RIAA deviation, but the phono preamp board is not quite as good as the one in the AUA-7000E, which is VERY nice sounding.

Here is a pic of the insides. It has hookups for only one set of speakers, I believe.
