When there are fires running out of control, we have had rain for 3 days. It had not rained for almost three months and now it won't stop. check out this freeway shot

this is an elevated six lane freeway. the creek is 30 feet below the bridge, well normally. as you can see it's now over the bridge. I hope my house doesn't float away.

Large areas of Nebraska, especially throughout the "Great American Desert" have been in drought condition for several years. The area around Lincoln has gone in and out of drought (as measured by the Drought measuring people). Lower than normal snowfall in the Wyo Rockies means less runoff to the creeks feeding the Platte River. Grass is like tinder. Hey, at least it's humid!!

In just one day we have broken the monthly record for rainfall in the month of July. It's still pouring out and looks like it will continue for another 24 hours.

Wardsweb-

Where are you in Texas? My brother is a nurse in San Antonio. He told me about 3 years ago it rained like that and the hospital looked like a castle with a moat running around it.

I live in the north east San Antonio 410 and 35. The flood we had three years ago was called the 100 year flood. My ex-wife's basement started to fill with water, so they were using gasoline powered fire department water pumps to empty it. The kind the fire department used to pull water from lakes to fight fires. They used another to keep the pool from over flowing and dumping more water in the basement. It was a mess. They moved the following year.
