Decided to visit a few relics on my usual bi-annual vacation home. Thought some of the pics might be interesting. Google up the locations if interested in reading up the history. A lot of these places are from the 10th to 16th century AD. Ask if you have questions about any specific pics

Camera: panasonic dmc-fz10k 4MP
Most shots at ISO 50 with -0.33 Exposure compensation to avoid washing out the highlights in bright sunlight
Some noise on some indoor shots as I had to bump up the ISO (hate using flash)

Sorry about the current galary format, .. can't scroll up / down, . may change soon.

Dude, a lot of those places look like they could use a good coat of paint!

Just kidding, of course. Excellent photos, very good photography, and of course, intensely interesting subjects. Even the monkies. :)

Is that page(s) done with just plain HTML? I like it...if it's a software package, I wanna know the name...

it's done using the FREE program jalbum http://jalbum.net/ , ...

cool thing #1 is that there are several free templates available for download
cool thing #2 is that these templates are customizable (see website)
(maybe) cool thing #3 is that using certain templates, the photo exif info can be displayed

Great shots! You really capture a lot of detail! Do you use a tripod or do you just have a very steady hand?

thanks, ..
all shots handheld.
the FZ10 has an optical image stabilizer (IS) (basically a gyroscopic mechanism which counteracts hand shake)

that apart, i prefer to use the little viewfinder rather than the larger LCD as i can get a steadier grip on the camera that way (as opposed to the current fad of holding the camera at elbows length and looking through the camera-back LCD) . anyway, to each his own.

for long zoom shots (the camera has a 420mm equivalent lens), i hold my breath in and exhale gently when pressing the shutter. it helps a bit though the technique is more useful for non IS cameras (esp my old film camera - pentax k1000 which had a heavy shutter action)

cheers
