I would like your opinions on the value of this guitar. There are a couple MINOR chips to the red-sparkle finish and slight corrosion on the stock pickups. other than that, this thing looks like it's in pretty good condition!

My bro-in-law traded it to me for my beat-up Washburn. He REALLY wanted the neck of that Washburn, so who am I to argue? This was definitely an upgrade, but with a brand new Epiphone Dot, the wife made me realize that this one should be gotten rid of.

I value your opinions!

not all that much, its a pretty standard cheapo peavey, i'd say they got in a pawn shop for maybe 130ish here.

I'm not much of an authority on electric guitars, but I'd say it may be worth a little more, since it's made in USA. It could potentially be a good player. Peaveys have terrible resale value, but I'd guess maybe $250.

I have it on Craigslist with no bites yet. Does anyone know if Guitar Center gives fair price? I am guessing NO since it is a huge store.

Guitar Center, in my experience, will give you nowhere near what you could get if you sold it yourself. I've discussed in passing trading something in there a couple of times and always felt downright insulted. People do it all the time, though. Just like trading in a used car at the dealership, I guess.

As with most music stores they only offer pennies on the dollar. You would deffinately
make out better in a private sale and feel better knowing someone is playing it that
will appreciate the instrument.

Thanks, Gib. Check the Classifieds! This guitar has a connection w/ Stevie Ray Vaughn as of the other night!

Unfortunately for sellers, luckily for players, even USA made Peavey guitars don't fetch much price. except maybe the Wolfgang. I picked up a USA made Predator (Strat copy) and Reactor (Tele copy) for less than an Asian import Fender, and a fraction of what I'd pay for a US made Fender of comparable quality.

Unless you are allergic to Aqua Net and Spandex, keep it. You won't nearly get as good a guitar for anything like the price you'll receive for it, and it is a whole different thing from the Dot.
