Whats your vote for the most bizzare music video? I've been watching VH1 Classic lately and my vote is for Slade's Chamaleon (Run Run Away)- aan aging glam band in the middle of a medival town full of barmaids and midgets.

A close second is the country song Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy. Similar theme only in a big city.

Your thoughts?

"Chocolate Cake" and "Private Universe" by Crowded House.

I think the one for Blind Melon's "No Rain" with the bee girl is strongly in the running, but it'd be difficult to pick a sure winner if you factor in all the strange crap that came with the 80's new wave craze...

my daughter would say "Power and the Passion" by Midnight Oil. when she was about 8 she was up late alone and watching mtv (she was supposed to be in bed) when this video came on. she had never even heard of Midnight Oil and was not prepared for Peter Garrett geeking like only he can. though she is an Oil fan, that video still freaks her out 10 years later.

I remember one from the early 80's that had this little girl done up in full punk regalia, and all the while the song was playing, they destroyed this perfectly innocent piano-chainsaws, sledgehammers, etc. Even the punk kid had a go at it a time or 2. Another one was that 1984 Rockwell video "Who's Watching Me?"-it was full of Very Deep Symbology, I guess, but kinda left me scratching my head.-Sandy G.

Most fun has to be Weird Al's "Eat It!" , but the 5,6,7,8s is strange just because it is little Japanese women wearing sheath dresses, with their hair up in beehives doing 60s surfer music. It is in the special features of "Kill Bill".

I haven't watched a music video in years, but Peter Gabriels' "Sledgehammer" I always thought was pretty kewl and unusual

Tom Petty's "You Got Lucky," just because the post-apocalyptic video bore absolutely no relation to the song.

Another one by Petty "Mary Jane's Last Dance". Morbid stuff in this one.

Also Mexican Radio by Wall of Voodoo. Whip it by Devo.

Can't remember the name of the song, but the band is Art of Noise.

"Close to the Edit" is the Art of Noise song. They also abused a Bari Sax, both on its own and swinging it at the piano.

My favorite oddball video was "Bastards of Young" by the Replacements, which was a single shot of an speaker playing the song -- Foe

Art of Noise ! Yep, that's it- I knew it was one of those off-the-wall 80's bands, just couldn't think of their name. All I remember is that the little girl-looked like she was 8, 10 maybe- was one INTENSE little kid. Don't think I'd wanted to mess w/her ! <grin>-Sandy G.

Although I am not a fan of either,

Nine Inch Nails video can't remember the name of the song. The one with Trent hanging and spinning on wires, all kinds of out of focus crap!

Tool I think it was 'Prison Love'? with the animated broken egg head character.

Tool had some bizarre, but cool videos. Also, Marylin Manson comes to mind.

Nick Cave, Stagger Lee, Red Right Hand or Jack The Ripper. Take your pick. All very strange.
