Walked into my GW, start browsing the electronics....nothing. Walk over to the albums, and I start seeing these albums in a plastic cover. I looked at the first one as far as condition goes, almost new. I checked another, same thing, then I began just grabbing all of them I could. All in all, there were 100 of them, nearly all of them had a new liner as well. The music ranged from Ambrosia, to Springsteen, to Keith Jarrett. Mostly soft rock, contemporary stuff, quite a few Billy Joel's, Dan Fogarty, Jackson Browne and Chicago albums, it was nice to see someone really took great care of their vinyl and to take the time to put each record in a new liner and then put the album in plastic. They will give me many, many hours of enjoyment.

The best score though, was a Fleetwood Mac, "Fleetwood Mac" album, cover is in...well poor condition, but on the bottom read "Original Master Recording" I had to immediately take it out and check the condition of the record, again, nearly pristine shape, can't understand how the cover got messed up. It's one of those done by Mobile Fidelity Sound Labs, and reads "High Definition Vinyl" in small print and "Pressed In Japan" the quality of sound was excellent on it. It's nice to find music scores like this, simply because the shape of the records were very good. I'm going to make my turntable work out today :)

I get chills when I score those NM great bands collections. If you like the music, great score.

I've yet to experience the same feeling when scoring great electronics like some here have.

Far out, Dan. You'll have some long listening sessions in the coming few days.

I've been listening all day practically to these, had to listen again to the MFSL Fleetwood Mac album. The David Sanborn album was great, there were two albums by Carolyn Mas in there, never heard of her, but both were very good. The Paul Simon one had some distortion at the end tracks, from what I'm assuming is from a improperly aligned cartridge from before, glad I haven't found that on any others yet.

Stevie Nicks voice on the MFSL album is angelic.

GREAT haul!!!!!!! I have found some good stuff, but not like your haul... Jacket sleeves and record sleeves.... Who ever it was took good care of 'em... Did you ask the staff if they got the gear that went with the vinyl? If the LPs were given up, what did they (who ever donated the LPs) do with the equipment??? May be in the back room...

Great score! Congratulations! If you don't mind, what did you pay for them. My GW charges 50 cents per album. Only occassionally find one worth bringing home. Spring is here and so is yard sale season!

Hey Omi, good question, I didn't bother to ask that, if they were donated they were either long gone or cherry picked. I almost bet some of the better albums had been cherry picked also, vinyl isn't quite the rage around here yet, but it's getting more and more popular. I paid $1.00 each for them, so yea, it cost me a bit, but considering the condition I thought it was pretty good. I'm wondering if the previous owner didn't have a VPI record cleaner or something similar then put them in the new sleeves. They even put the records in so the record is not open to air, the proper way. So it's a pain to play one, but they are extremely clean.

A buck a piece is a steal.
