View Full Version : A shure v15 type III question
I broke the needle (stylus?) off this cartridge which goes on my maratnz 6300.
Since recently selling the technics sl1950 I have been without a working TT.
I went on ebay and saw this same thing (cartridge?) for $61. The listing said it had a new stylus which led me to believe the cartridge was used like mine is. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1363171421
Explain if you will to this TT newbie, what the best way to go about this is? Do I buy a new cartridge with a new stylus? I used cartridge with a new stylus or can I buy a new stylus to go in the cartridge I already have? Like most I'm trying to get out of this as cheaply as possible.
Pros and cons?

If ya find a brand new one on Ebay I would jump on it. They are way better than the average carts. Hope this helps

I know its pretty expensive but thats a Damn good Cartridge. You could save a few bucks and but and M92E but I think you will find that you were spoiled by the V15

Far out! That is a great deal from Shure!
Need a stylus (pretty sure, but it's on the TT I have had packed in its OBM for over 15 years, mebbe I had just put it on before moving that time?) for the V15-Type IV with that 'dynamic stabiliser' thingie. Styli for it are more than I'm sure I paid for the cartridge. Mebbe not, but I still think in terms of buying a new car in 1968 ... :dunno:
Got a SUPER price on the upgrade stylus for my M95HE from partsexpress, but their selection is VERY limited.
THANKS for the info from Shure!
