Canon 1014 Electronic

I just found a Canon "Auto Zoom 1014 Electonic" Super 8 camera at the thrift store. I think it's my best score to date. Anyone know anything about this thing? Is seems to be working quite nicely. I can't get the electric zoom to do anything, but I can hear the motor going when I try.

Camera runs- I can see light through the shutter. Not a lot more to check on this thing really. There is a scratch on the lense, but it's near the edge and I can't see it through the viewfinder.

Georgeous Camera. This is one of the best Super 8 Cameras made Could be the gears have gone in the zoom lens. I'll have a look through my links and stuff and see if I have a service manual.

I work at a television station. We've done a little research and it's pretty reasonable to shoot Super 8 and have it transfered to video. We're going to try it for some cool looking projects and see what we think. At least I can find out if it's working righ without spending my own money.

Thanks for the links. It really is a cool looking camera. Should be a lot of fun playing around with the thing. Amazing I found such a good one sitting on the shelf at a Thrift store!
