Not quite spring yet, but it was flirtin' with 70 degrees today. Got home from dinner...

Sitting out on the deck looking over the back yard, grass is just starting to green up a bit. Glass of single malt scotch, a nice Padron, and Aaron Neville on the iPod.

Watching the sun go down.

Scotch almost gone, Padron down to almost scorching my lips, now it's Madeleine Peyroux.

Can't get much better. Well, yes it could, but Cindy Crawford told me she was busy tonight.

Just in case you guys haven't heard Madeleine Peyroux, you need to get this album. Closest description I can give is that she's a richer, more luxurious Billy Holliday. Not only a great voice, but terrific music, and a stunning recording. Closely miked, which I love. It's like she's whispering in my ear while she's singing just for me... :smlove:

Fantasize all you want, but it's my hair she's runnin' her fingers through! :naughty:

I'm not sure how much you use your iPod, but I have a friend who got himself a nice set of headphones and an inexpensive, but decent, headphone amp. He said it's amazing how much better it sounds that the iPod on it's own. If you're into it, just thought you may want to check out that direction.

I'm actually going to buy a new pair of headphones. The standard ones sound great, but they don't fit in my ears and refuse to stay put. Very uncomfortable. I tried an inexpensive pair of Koss earbuds with foam inserts, but they sound like crap. Might just bite the bullet and go for the Shure e3c's. I've heard they sound terrific.

Probably won't go all the way to a headphone amp since the main thing I love about the iPod is its portability, plus it'll go louder than I can handle now!

Etymotics also makes some great earphones. I got the ER4s and the world just disappears behind a screen of music. I've heard that the Etymotics are a clearer sound than the E3Cs but that the Etymotics will pick up "mic" noise when the connecting lines hit on something whereas the Shure's won't. I can't talk about the Shures personally but the Etys are incredibly clear and do pick up mic noise...thus they are a little noisy to use while running.
