View Full Version : FS or Trade: Altec A7's
Kamakiri 04-14-2005, 12:25 PM These SOB's are just too big for my house. I needs more room for my pinball machines :D
They have JBL 2220A 15" woofers in them (same model Wardsweb has in his), along with 511B horns and 802 drivers (one is an 802-8B and one an 8D as I recall). These also have the N800D crossovers. Here's a shot of them at ProAc's house:

Still look the same except that ProAc peeled the VOT stickers off them when they were his
Best offer or trade, will deliver to NC or points along the way (POSSIBLY) next week.

Kamakiri 07-21-2005, 11:58 AM These speakers are back up for sale. $800 obo, pickup only in Buffalo NY.
WhiteSE 07-21-2005, 12:07 PM How goo woould they sound with the Berning amp?
Can you keep them till memorial day?
mhardy6647 07-21-2005, 12:21 PM ... my wife would kill me (especially with the extra pair of Allison Ones currently sitting in our back room). :-(
I shore wish I could relieve you of them, Tim.
Kamakiri 07-21-2005, 12:37 PM How goo woould they sound with the Berning amp?

They would sound like archangels from Heaven. Seriously I dunno......but I can't keep them till Memorial day next year. If nobody's interested by Saturday they go off to epay.
WhiteSE 07-21-2005, 12:40 PM You need them outta the house ey?
I wonder if someone can warehouse them for me,,till I can pick them up in my winter break from teaching..Do they fit thru standard door frames?
Kamakiri 07-21-2005, 12:53 PM They sure do. I have moved them in and out of my house and had no trouble :)
ProAc_Fan 07-21-2005, 05:29 PM The casters make moving these a snap. I had them in my basement and I single handedly returned them to Tim's and rolled them onto the back porch.
Mike
WhiteSE 07-21-2005, 05:31 PM Pussies need casters.......LOLOL!
ProAc_Fan 07-21-2005, 05:45 PM Well then enjoy the A7's Garfield.
Mike
grumpy 07-21-2005, 05:48 PM Castor's will make them easier for jack to load back in the bronco when he sells them.
WhiteSE 07-21-2005, 05:56 PM Castor's will make them easier for jack to load back in the bronco when he sells them.
That hurts my feelings.... :D
Also, actually someone is willing to trade one of my Berning's for a pair of Altec tube amps or Allen organ tube amps to drive them,,I figured it would be cool to have an all Altec setup...can you guys give any feedback on that?
Thatch_Ear 07-21-2005, 07:11 PM Those Altecs don't go low enough to need Allen amps. I am sure the A7s don't weigh as much as the 604 cabs (thinner wood) I have and I moved those by myself.
Tim, you could just pull the drivers, get the same money and build a tree house for the little engineer.
WhiteSE 07-21-2005, 07:19 PM Thatch...good point.....having the plans, I wonder how much it would cost to have someone build the cabs here...

Good point, I'll leave the option open if Jack doesn't want them....
Kamakiri 07-22-2005, 04:26 PM Speakers are back for sale......make an offer via PM guys.
mhardy6647 07-22-2005, 05:05 PM Does anyone know if a pair of 604B's might be happy in the "bass bins" of the VOT's?
dgwojo 07-22-2005, 05:33 PM Does anyone know if a pair of 604B's might be happy in the "bass bins" of the VOT's?
I don't know if they'll be happy because there won't be a way to bolt the back cabinet cover on, the 604B is too deep!! Also, the 825 cabinet accepts a 15" frame like the 604B's, the 828 cabinets accept 16" frames like the 604-8G's, Dave. :scratch2:
mhardy6647 07-22-2005, 06:09 PM Simple enough... my search for quick 'n' dirty cabinets for my 604B's goes on...
