A few people at the Fest were looking for an LP that I brought. Mel Torme and Buddy Rich - Together Again for the First Time. It is available as a CD under the title. When I Found You Here (http://www.cdconnection.com/bin/nph-search/YvQtdZkjUGvq.bsc?part=86022) is a place I found that sells the CD. Never tried them, although two friends of mine bought there, and recommended it. I trust them, so I am passing it on, for your consideration.

BTW, the LP comes in two versions, Gryphon Records G-784, and a direct-to-disc version, Century Records CRDD-1100. Hope this helps, if you are searching for it.

The Direct-to-Disc version is superior due to being a direct pressing from an analog master. However, you need to find that version in very good shape that hasn't been overplayed by a worn stylus.

The Gryphon version is pressed from a master tape like usual so is 1 or 2 generations removed. Certainly still a good LP if found in good condition.

The music on both is quite good and the liner notes are fun to read.

Mel on Buddy - "Buddy Rich is the single extant genius of the drums"
Buddy on Mel - "Mel who?"

Classic!!

tyler, back when that album was new, all I could afford was the Gryphon version, for smaller $. That is the very disc to which you listened, last Sunday. Maybe one day, I will get to hear the difference between the two versions.
