I am thinking about upgrading my Energy Take5s to NHT SB2s. The SB2s are supposed to have the ability to play much deeper bass, which would be great for music and movies. I believe I will be adding 4 SB2s and a SW10ii subwoofer, but I am curious about what I should do for the center channel.

The typical choice would be to add their SC1 or SC2, but I also believe it may make more sense to just add another SB2. Any thoughts? The SC series is supposed to be able to angle toward the sweet spot for better dialog sound, but would it make a big difference if I just put a SB2 on my TV. The TV's height is around 54 inches.

If you like Energy speakers you can move up a little to the Encore series. They are bigger and add more bass.

Would you be getting rid of the take system then? hint...hint...wink...wink...nudge...nudge... :)

Would you be getting rid of the take system then? hint...hint...wink...wink...nudge...nudge... I have not decided on that yet. I have only sold a couple of things on Ebay, but I may go that route unless you want me to send you an email before I list them (if I decide to list them). They may work in my spare bedroom, but I really am not sure , yet. They are unbelievable speakers for the size, especially with movies.

I will look at the Encores. I am not sure they have the bass response of the NHT SB2s. I am also considering the SB3s, so if anyone has a comment on how they compare to the Encores or to each other, I would be interested. :)

I ended up buying the NHT SB2s with a SC1 Center channel and the Outlaw Sub LFM-1. If anyone is interested in the Take5s, I just put them on Ebay.

I decided to get a dedicated center channel for aesthetic reasons. The SB2 did not look right sitting on top of the TV. I could have put it on it's side, but that is not recommended by NHT. The SC1 looks better and does not compromise much of the sound.

I also liked the way the SC1 has a mount that will angle the speaker toward the listening position.
