I am looking to recreate my folks system they've had since the early '70's. I have the Akai R2R deck from their system, and am now looking to get a similar TT. Unfortunately, they threw it out a couple years ago after some idiot at Circuit City told them they couldn't get needles anymore. So I am looking for the models that were for sale in the early 70's. Hopefully, one of them will jog a memory or 2 and I will remember which one it is. I thought it might be a 2050 but the switches don't seem to be right. Any insight would be appreciated.

Hi VH:
I was hoping it would be the 2050 as shown in the photo- that wouldve been my guess, or a variant therof in that Line such as 1050 or SR4050C, as they were the main TT's Sansui made in the time frame you mentioned. If time allows (Ive been swamped lately with alot of Online activity, and email correspondences back & forth) I'll check and let you know if anything else turns up that might fit what youre looking for, B/F.

That Picture of the Sansui TT taken outside with the smokes in the foreground , posted by David W is indeed a SR-2050C...
It's MY SR-2050C! I took that picture last summer when I bought it. All's fair on the net I suppose but when one uses a picture posted on this site by another member, at least give 'em a credit eh Dave M!
BTW That TT is great. I've posted a number of replies/posts about it. Check my profile if you'd care to view them.
Cheers all:
Matt

Nice table BF, very cool. What era is it from? Looks familiar to something I have seen on the shelves years ago. As for my parents TT, the time frame definetly fits the 2050's, but the SR-717 seemfamiliar, though I am not sure. I am going to send my folks pics of the different ones and see if they recognize them. Now I need to fins a pic of the 1050 and the SR-313.

What era you ask?- Why, a great one in terms of hi fi and my fave time period- the late 1970's.
The Accutrac offers phono sound quality with the convenience of digital direct access, and that sounds pretty darn cool to me.
Regards, B/F.

Hi folks!
I am new to the group but need some help! I need a Lateral balancer for my Sansui SR-717. It is a small piece of machined metal that serves as an anti-skate adjusment.
Any help would be most appreciated! it is in EXCELLENT condition otherwise but I am aware that Sansui parts from this era are not the easiest parts to find.
Look forward to being part of the group and thanks in advance to anyone who may be of assistance!
