Arrives in a GOOD Way!!!

Well, at first I'm concerned.... the "FRAGILE" label seems more like a challenge - like Pat Benatar, it's sitting there and begging "Hit me with your best shot!!! C'mon!!!!!!"

Although the box is a bit rounded on the corners, it's a fairly decent box - not up to Ward's 275 double wall standard, but better than average.

Well, now it's time to pop the hood.... Wow, looking GOOD! There's EIGHT layers of foam board on top of the box, and 4 llayers underneath and on all sides! George Foreman's "Best Shot" ain't gonna do nothing. Neither Pat Benatar nor the Sansui should have ANY worries!

Here's a nice little detail - the foam is cut and formed to fit the knobs and switches on the front panel! :thmbsp:

The end result - my old Dual 604 and the new/old Sansui make some beautiful music together!

My only quibble - I would have wrapped the receiver in plastic - to keep the spall from the foam board off it (I had to run the vacumn over it - no big deal) And I would have used a tad heavier box. But this guy - seller's handle is "Dustys Closet Treasures" is light years beyond the packing of the majority of Ebay.

I'd been looking at a few 'bargain' vintage receivers over the last month - the reason I pulled the trigger - the guy had high positive feedback, the unit was in nice shape, AND the feedback and the auction specifically mentioned his good quality packing. Plus, he'd actually sold and shipped electronics and audio gear, unlike the bric brac sellers who suddenly try to pack audio.

If you haven't already, open up the cover and see if you need to vacuum inside as well, Some foam crumbs could have gotten in through the slots in the cover. I've needed to do that a couple of times with eBay items -- Foe

Cleve, congrats on a successful delivery. What a relief, eh? Also, I think it's cool that you noted the seller's name. I think he deserves kudos for a good packing job.
