Picked up one of these and was wondering. I watch movies quite a bit though not in home theater mode. I watch them the old fashioned way, on the TV using the TV speakers.
My question here has more to do with audio outs. Player has only a single pair of analog outs and was wondering if anyone tried some sort of switching, etc to get the sound to both the TV and in my case 2 channel integrated amp.

Figured this one out. I will be using the 5.1 outs for audio from DVD movie watching and SACD's through the receiver. Will also run the analogue outs directly to the TV since my wife doesn't like having to switch all the "stuff" on!

John,
You can always set your output to PCM if you like for stereo playback only. . . However sounds like you got it figured out.
I have looked for the 975. . . couldnt find it. . . bought the 775 and it was OK but too little. I thought about the 875 as it is bigger and heavier. I have heard good things. . .
I ended up buying a 592 Toshiba combo because of it's DVD playback qualities. I use the HDMI connection as it upscales to 720P/1080I. . . I will be buying the big ELITE (1600.00 list) as soon as I can afford it. Found a "B" stock unit for 600.00 with a new warrenty. . .
I think I tried every upscaling player under 300.00 and this 592 Toshiba works best for me.

Got her hooked to a Sony STR-DE698. 90 watt/ch x 7. Has A/B for front stereo as well and will be using these Front channels to drive a pair of outdoor Polk Atriums 55s as soon as I run the speaker wire.
