I recently purchased a pair of AS 3oo Sansui speakers. DOes anyone have any information on them? I can't find anything on the web. They are beautiful wood with white grilles. They appear to be from the 70's before the SP line came out. They look more mainstream.

They are listed in my 1972 Sansui catalog- above the models, AS-100 & AS-200. Freq resp: 35-20KHZ, 3 way system with 12" woofer, 6.5: cone dome midrange and 3" cone tweeter. Input power up to 60W, 8 ohm impedance. List price in April 1972: $149.95

I have 2 pair.
The 60 watt input is very very conservative, The $149 1972 list price was a bargain, and this speaker will surprise you with its sonic qualities.
Very, very nice sounding for a so-called "Bookshelf".
I drive mine with a Dual PA-5060 Integrated Amp, Stinger Interconnects, and MonsterCable Speaker Wire.
Good Combo.

I have,nd have had at least 10 pairs of Sansui speakers. In my opinion these sound best. Excellent base response and overall clarrity. I am running them in tandem with a pair of Bose bookshelf speakers off an AU 7500 and the sound is very nice. The best Sansui speakers I have owned was a pair of SP 3000's and I like these better.

These are what I purchaced at goodwill most recently...
in my case though the woofers apparently were shot, some major rubbage on one 12 inch woofer. I was also able to generate with software a 1hz frequency and determine the other one is experencing the same issue to a lesser degree. I'll have to create a test CD in order to actually diagnose such events in the future, assuming such an ultra low frequency can be recorded and played back without it being filtered out.
I still prefer the sp-1500's I have upstairs, but these to me are great.
