SPL db 05-17-2005, 05:39 PM Looks great! :thmbsp:
What did you end up using to clean 'er up so well?
Scott
DoomSlayer 05-17-2005, 06:12 PM lots of windex, deox-it and some silicone spray!!! Windex does wonders though..
siamac 05-17-2005, 06:12 PM Very good work The Monster came in right hands!
DoomSlayer 05-17-2005, 06:17 PM thanks...its still not perfect, but im soo happy with it! I got real lucky, this thing was a virgin....never been opened or messed with.! Its singing in the other room right now with my Infinity's... Next is my Marantz 2325.. it needs work also!!! Its almost as dirty.
DoomSlayer 05-17-2005, 06:20 PM :ntwrthy: Btw.....Siamac..... You Are The Pioneer Gods Dream With All That Equipment You Have :ntwrthy:
siamac 05-17-2005, 06:38 PM Thank you. I have a lot of fun with my collection. But I had to stop or sell other things to afford this hobby, but itīs o.k.
Other people just have two or three McIntosh components + 2 B&W Speakers, but spend a lot more money than me for Hifi :D
To love a SX-1250 is a sign of good taste :thmbsp:
DoomSlayer 05-17-2005, 06:45 PM thanks... im working on getting a rt-909 and a sa 9800 from a buddy!! All i need is a pair of HPM 100's or 1100's
pioneering 05-17-2005, 07:45 PM Your work is great, and your taste in the 1250 is exceptional. After playing with all the high xx50's and xx80's, I will now only deal with the xx50's... and the xx80's are in grateful peoples hands. I have a problem turning down the purchase of a clean appearing xx50... maybe there is a support group for this issue?
steve gibson 05-17-2005, 10:26 PM I have a 1250 that I just retored and I absolutely love it, but yours is like brand new. Great job!
HiFiber 05-18-2005, 09:00 AM Dude is that for real? Is that the componentry stock on that thing?!
My eyes just popped out of my head. What is one of those worth?
Donny 05-18-2005, 09:14 AM very nice! I have receiver envy!!!
shelby1420 05-18-2005, 10:23 AM Man, she's purty!!!!!
Grayhouse 05-18-2005, 11:48 AM Geez, that is beautifull. You did a damn fine job on that DoomSlayer :thmbsp:
madpioneer 05-18-2005, 01:14 PM It is gorgeous! What condition was it like when you got it? I have been wanting one now for sometime! :thmbsp:
DoomSlayer 05-18-2005, 05:14 PM thanks guys.... there is a link on my first post with pics on what it looked like when i bought it!! It was a mess.....yet fun to learn and fix
Great job on cleaning it up and the pics prove it! Always some satisfaction at bringing something that's in excess of a couple of decades old back into every day use. The big Pioneers were nice! (though I'm a Sansui kinda guy, I like all the vintage iron!)
DoomSlayer 05-18-2005, 08:30 PM ahh hell yeah, my next stop is a G-9000....notice i dont do small!! :D I dont like to mess around  Then ill be looking into the big Mac's :naughty:

You'll like what I just put together (and posted on the Sansui board recently about). 93 pounds of G-22000 pushing 220 wpc into 250 pounds of JBL L-300's. And yes, Mac is good (I just can't afford it!).
siamac 05-23-2005, 01:45 PM :thmbsp: Very nice Reciever. Almost as good as Pioneer :D
Funny man! But I gotta give you loyalty to your favorite brand and I'm glad you have the SX-1980, because that's definitely a Pioneer 'super-sized' reciever!
