Julia and I went to see Hitch Hiker's Guide To The Universe at the matinee' last Saturday. I am glad I got to see this on the big screen and having never seen the show, listened to the radio serial or read the books I thought it was a pretty good movie.
I do love the Brit humor and this was full of silly bits that made it fun, had some great special effects and I really enjoyed the parallelism (juxtaposition?) of the guy's house and the planet Earth.
I am not sure if the "Can't be the president unless you have half your brain removed" was aimed at Bush but I loved the two headed split personality double speak with the tounge in cheek political bashing, the blatant bureaucracy bashing and the poking fun of the general mindset of the public.(should we put bags over our heads and lay on the floor?)
All in all it was pretty good fun had for the price of 2 gallons of gasoline.
