Anyone know the model number? It's a small amp but it sounds decent.

Yes- the Preamp is..... (get ready...) the C-55.

The model you refer to is designed to be used in Sansui all-in-one combo systems- as shown from page in 1981 catalog I provided. B models refer to combo rack power amps, C- the preamp. T for Tuners, R for receivers.

These models are decent but designed for ease of use for the person who wanted an entire system at a modest price. Sansui started making them in abundance throughout the 80's to boost sales in that market. Quality is Ok, but a bit "plasticky". Sansui made much more rugged hi fi products in the Line- though more expensive- which in 1981 would be the AU-D series amps and 9900Z...3900Z recievers. Lets put it this way, the B-55 weighs less than 10 lbs whereas the very top line AU-X1 weighs in at over 60LBs- which makes it obvious that the power supply and other associated components in the Rack combo models are rather miniscule. As I said though, for the avg audio listener, they are acceptable. If someone has one and its been reliable all these years, thats fine. Just want to be clear though that Sansui's reputation was built on their more upscale models.

B/F.

The C-77 would also work with it. It has a cool fader that lets you fade between any 2 sources. This one went for $152  way overpriced, they usually go for much less than that.
