We will choose the winner of the contest on Friday, and the forum will be created at that time with the winner put in the moderator slot. That forum will be then merged into Off Topic on Sunday morning and life as we know it will return to normal :)

The winner will be determined by a vote of the moderators for the best idea posted in this thread, be it serious, inventive, crazy, or stupid :yes:

Saturday morning Garage sale thrift store challenge. Find and photograph the most inspiring Yorx, Sound Design or other sonically challenged system, maybe even audition it, then sing praises of all of its glory's for us all to believe, defending your new found system to the end.

Possibly a TOTL system of other components. Think about it, maybe we can start a new Ebay craze, imagine Yorx turntables around the world! WOW! Top it off with a GPX reciever, and the cream some plastic Gold Star speakers!

And then again that could ruin us for life. I can see audiophiles accross the country talking up there latest Score :blah: :yuck: , BPC becoming the the best there is, or not. :naughty: :banana: :yikes: :drunk:

Here's a few off the top of my head:

1. Words, especially PC words, that should be banned or at least excoriated - Score was a good start. I might add "inner detail" or "nuance" or "impacted"

2. A forum that is the equivalent of the swap shop - everyone can post up to 10 items that they know they should get rid of but haven't gotten around to it. No prices but must have 20% negotiated sale donated to AK for the privilege of posting. All transactions done by PM only. And yes, you're on your honor. Pictures would be optional.

3. Who's got the messiest office - storage - listening room with audio gear in it? You must post a good representative pic and no fair messing it up just for this forum - The group can then vote / poll on it for fun. PigPen Award?

4. I like the pets forum idea, let's meld it with Pets and Audio, or Pet and Kids, or prettiest pets/kids, or ?ugliest pets/kids - no offence but you know examples can be found for all!

5. Smilies I'd like to see - I have seen many other smilies on other sites (like Lansing Heritage) that I'd love to have available. Isn't there some way to convert gif's to smilies or something like that?

6. How I destroyed a piece of gear - intentionally or otherwise - description and pics if available - C'mon, you all like to watch car race crashes, admit it! Or a good demolition derby. So where's the pic of the dead receiver done in by some weaponry, or the speaker that fell off the pickup truck bed, Huh? We all have a dark secret to tell!

7. The Score forum ideas
a. My 3 absolute best scores and why - pick your best on quality, least money spent, rarity, or some other obscure reason - like "I liked it!"
b. My worst score that turned into a money pit
c. The scores that got away - sigh, we all have that one.
d. My best "fill in class of component - receiver, amp, speaker, turntable, etc." score - single class or brand per weekend forum, can run the gamut including SS or tube TV, antique radios, test gear, etc. so can include all the current forums.
e. Other great scores - boats, cars, tools, guystuff. We probably should keep the girlfriends, ex'es, and wives off this one :naughty:
f. What got scored off of us - we sold something near and dear that we shouldn't have sold or given away - again, a class or type of component that we're still missing or kicking ourself for.
g. What's the score we'd like to have and what's the maximum price we'd pay before it wasn't a score and just a good deal?

8. Word games
a. Fill in the following:
1. I wish I had 4 of these.
2. I wish I had a bigger....
3. I wish I had a smaller....
4. I wish I had more....
5. I wish I had less....
etc.
b. Have Dr. Strangelove come up with some more stuff like "It's odd but not peculiar". That was great.

I really like the messy forum as it will give all but one of us a nice false sense of security that our collection is not out of hand. We can drag our significant other over to the PC and show them how messy and disorganized that weirdo from <insert state here> is.

The topcat of the messy collection contest will win an emergency intervention from our crack team of gearheads. We'd need somebody like EW for fixing the gear and a pro seller to ebay the stuff. Oh, and a really big dumpster for the rest of the gear so the rest of us scroungers can raid it in the middle of the night. :)

Or we could fall back on my idea for a "Show us your scars!" forum. Surgical scars and other injuries. The fresher the better! Bonus points if you took the pic before you got to the ER. Double score if you stitched it up yourself. And before you ask, I already have a few pics to contribute.
