Shawn:
I played a Mapex set at a club a while back (their drums) I was really impressed with the sound and construction. My set is a 70s Pearl 7 piece (Snare is a ludwig supraphonic, my first drum.) All A-Zildjians. I saw your post in another thread about liking to rock, and I agree, its fun. But, I'd suggest getting to know (and probably discover you like) all kinds of music. Best money I ever made playing drums was for a local dinner theater doing musical shows. Regular hours and regular pay-checks. No bar manager trying to say the band didn't bring in enough customers at the end of a 5 hour gig, or getting paid in 250 $1 bills. Went to LA one summer and played at Johnny Carson's club (Variety Arts Theater, downtown on Fig.) doing that kind of music. For what its worth. But, back to Mapex drums...sound good to me.

PS How you gonna get all those Mapex drums in a Vega? :yikes:
