Hey everyone, I picked up one of these at an auction last weekend and I know squat about it. The speaker wire is disconnected from the unit and I can' seem to locate where it hooks up to see if this thing works. It lights up and the turntable spins but without a speaker I can't test it any further. Anyone know about this one or where I could find out more info on it? I did find a picture of it, I'll attempt to attatch it. If that doesn't work here is the link:http://home.earthlink.net/~mrkevo4/radiocity/pages/philco491401.html
Thanks for any help................... Kim

I've owned hundreds of Philcos in my time as a radio collector, but I've never seen one of those!

I wouldn't be a bit surprised if it fetched $200 + if you sold it. What a beautiful set!

I can tell you that it was made in 1949 :)

Cool set! You can get the schematic and troubleshooting information from the 1949 Beitman's manual which you can download here: http://www.eskimo.com/%7Ep0lez1/beitman/beitmanhome2.htm

If he's removed the 1949 volume (Scott is running low on space...), I can send it, but it's 9 megabytes - maybe I can extract the two pages...
