Artist-Klaus Schulze
Album- 'X'
Release- 1978
Genre- Electronic New Age
Cd-remastered
Rating- 3 out of 5
A solo career effort by one of the members of Tangerine Dream, a Pioneer in electronic music. This album shows his influenze on Tangerine Dream's,which can be characterized as a sustained spacey analog synth sound. In this work he creates a unique trip style music (I don't know how else to discribe it), that takes your mind on a trip without the use of drugs. I'm refering mainly to track 1, which is a lengthy 25 minute long play instrumental, as well as track 3 and track 1 on disc 2. I my many years of listening to electronic music only a handful of songs come to mind that are good trip music and this one is awesome.
This music however may not appeal to everyone particularly those who aren't familiar with early analog synth music. But let me tell you once you come to appreciate it, songs like track 1 are rare. The remaining tracks are filler but listenable.
