I mentioned in the past that I would like to hold a small get together at my house in Newmarket (just north of Toronto) when I got my listening room complete and the time has come.
I’d like to have a few AK’ers over to shoot-the-shit, listen to some tunes and do some BBQ if the time and weather are right. I know a lot of you think the low power tube, vinyl and hi-efficiency speaker guys are nuts so here’s a chance to have a listen to a decidedly different approach to audio, and to confirm that we are nuts :) .
Since Shelby1420 is planning a southern Ontario meet for the late summer I’ll shoot for something sooner – say sometime before the end of July. I can spin LP’s, SACD’s and CD’s so bring something you’d like to hear. We could mess around with gear swapping but I should point out that my stuff doesn’t always get along and play nice with SS gear.
My listening room is a little small so I’d like to get a feel for how many are interested - post here or PM me so we can make some plans.

Billfort, I would consider myself extremely fortunate to listen to your system! :thmbsp:

Thanks guys, it turned out kinda easy on the eyes but the big thing is it seems to sound pretty decent.
Bolly, I live about 1 1/2 blocks from SouthLake, maybe a missed opportunity but I doubt you would have been in any shape to enjoy some tunes anyway :) .

I'm in the GTA between the 20th and 30th of July. May try to get to Kincardine for the weekend but have no real plans apart from the CN tower, Canada's wonderland, toronto Zoo, Niagra falls, visit my brothers and the science center...

Well, doesn't look like anybody is interested accept you two krimney and bolly.
I will be in the Beaches area of Toronto from July 22nd to 24th for the Jazz festival so other than those, let me know krimney what dates fit your plans best. I'll contact bolly to see what works for him.

Bill don't take my lack of response as any indicator of my interest in coming. It's difficult with 3 youngsters and my wife and I's work schedule to make any sort of day trips. Diaper bags and screaming 2 yr olds make for an unpleasant trip. :(

Well, I'm just a hoot and a holler from you here in Aurora, and I'd try to get to one if you do it, but with my work, it's tough to plan very far ahead.
Never heard an SE rig, sounds interesting!

Billfort, I didn't think you were looking for a negative response. I would love to hear your set-up, but next vacation time is end of August. OTT, time off is hard to come by. I send my regrets. Thanks for the invite, though. Another time, perhaps?

Billfort...
My schedule and availability is rather volatile at the moment, so although I am interested in joining in the fun, I was quietly sitting on the sidelines waiting for a date to be selected or suggested.
I didn't want to influence the scheduling, only to have to withdraw at the last minute.
If you are still planning to put something together, I would be interested in attending if available, but I likely won't be able to make a firm committment more than a week ahead of the date.

I wish I could make it. Wouldn't even need to bring my own music- Billfort already has what I would bring (well, with the exception of 'St James', which he would ban from his listening room after AKFest :) ).
I WILL get to his place at some time, but I currently am unable to do much planning.

I'll try to make it, depending on when it is and whether I'll be in town or not. The end of July isn't great thought...Jody has the week off and wants to head out of town.
Its too bad your gear doesn't agree with SS, I just received a very cool amp from Redgum audio out of Australia....I guess 150wpc is a little much :scratch2:

Hey Krimney, when you hit town call me. I work downtown and maybe we can connect when you are there.
Between now and end of July is a busy time but once you get a date for the get together I'll try to arrange my schedule to come. sounds like a way to enjoy a day and finally meet a few of comrade in audio.
