For Sale: Allison Acoustics CD-6 bookshelfs

For sale are a pair of late 80's vintage Allison Acoustics CD-6 bookshelfs. These are 2 ways with a 3/4" softdome and an upfiring 8" woofer. These will lay waste to all of those sub $400 bookshelfs I see mentioned here. Titans, M3ti's, NHT's, Energy's, I've owned many of those and heard ALL of them. These speakers were designed and built by Roy Allison and are quite amazing( especially their bass response). They are easy to drive ( I used a 25watt PP tube amp) but they sound nice with a SS amp too.

hello mike. i am interested in your speakers. how would these compare to klipsch kg 1.2 ? i am looking for a set for my son. he likes alot of lows in his music. what are the dimensions?

They measure 11 1/4" W X 11 1/4"L X 11"D. Sorry I can't make an honest comparison to the KG 1.2's as I've never heard those. If those Klispch use the Tractrix horn then my educated guess would be these Allison's are much more musical albeit less efficient than the Klipsch. Here's a slightly out of focus pic. There is a small dent in the dustcap of the tweeter which in no way affects performance. I do have the original metal tweeter cover but they are kind of ratty looking and IMHO the speakers look much nicer w/o them. These are NOT shielded so they can't go too close to any video source.
