This is possibly the best available bootleg recording made during the USA leg of his "Rock 'N Roll Heart" tour in '76. A superb audience recording made on 12/1/1976.

Lou's band was absolutely on fire. They were SO incredible that Lou had them open the show with a 7+ minute Free Jazz Jam. Heavily inspired by Jazz during this period, you have a hard time calling some of this stuff Rock and Roll...even classics like "I'm Waiting for the Man" and "Walk On the Wild Side" come off as something closer to Jazz than Rock.

And as the hidden bonus to anyone blindly dropping this CD in their player, Don Cherry, avant-trumpet supreme, shares the stage!! He takes command of "Wild Side" and perfectly compliments Lou's spur-of-the-moment stutters and stream of consciousness lyrical flow.

I really recommend this to any fan of Lou. You have never heard him do anything like this commercially. It's too bad he didnt play with such directness and artfulness on most of his recordings. Remastered, this disc would make a superb commercial release.
