View Full Version : Here It Is!!!!! Miata All Done!!!!!
All that is left is to modify the hard boot to fit around the roll bar and for the car to be buffed and waxed. Excuse the pics cuz the car is dirty! I finished it on Sat. and had to wait till Sunday to drive it! We drove the wheels off it Sunday and today we took a trip to Bar Harbor to drive around the coast :thmbsp:
First I will do the before and afters ;)

JD, can you imagine the look on some @55hole's face, after he cut's off that car, and flips Thor off. Pulls over, and gets out, only to see Thor climb out of the driver's seat! :yikes:

Thor, looking at that beauty, the work has to seem worth the effort, right?
You have every right to be proud. Enjoy the fruits of your labour, and motor with care. Well, a little bit of care.
Beautiful! You should be proud of it Thor! The hard work and tears really paid off!

Oh no, all the paint and right down to the bare metal was stripped off, including the old bondo ;)

Stereo sounds amazing! Even at 60mph with the top down the music is clear and loud. All the soundproofing we laid under the carpet and the deck and trunk and door panels really paid off.

That looks fantastic, and I don't even like miatas. Kinda resembles the old school RX-7's. I bet that thing handles great with its 50/50 weight ratio. Congrats!

Thor that chrome roll=bar that follows the contours of the seats is very cool!I like the front and rear airdams and the body-cladding on the sides!Add to the fact that metallic blue is one of my fave colors and you have a ride that should be a real head turner!
Hey Thor, I just ran across your thread - Sweet as shit! I really like to aero-body work and rollbar [nice touch]. Awesome interior too! But please, could you post some pixs of your fat ass in the car?! Seeing is believing!!! :scratch2:   MikE

I will posts pics of my fat ass driving it as well when I get someone to take some ;) They have a lot more room in them than you think, I have more room in it than in my GF's 98' Dodge Intrepid

Congratulations, Thor, a very well done job!
Now all you need to do is bolt a turbo in there to make up for the added weight.
I gotta say I was toying with the ideas of all those types of mods BEFORE I drove the car. Turbos, superchargers, V8's ect. BUT the car as is with a rinky little 1.6 is PERFECT! I can't believe how tourquey and peppy the thing is even with a motor with 180,000 miles on it. Mebbe it's the light weight, mebbe it's the 50/50 weight ratio, mebbe it's the same reason go carts seem to be going fast when you drive them, cuz they are small ;) Mebbe it's because my last four cars were, Bronco, GMC Pickup, Cherokee, Expedition. But I gotta say the thing litterally ZIPS along, it gets up to speed more than fast enough for me and goes around corners like it's on rails. I have never driven a car that didn't have the body roll around the corners. I see why the seats are designed the way they are cuz you need something to hold your ass in the seat. Sometimes it's kinda scary just how fast I can go around corners in it and more scary that I want to keep doing it ;) I am not so sure I NEED a turbo or anything else. I may change my mind after driving more but as of now fogetaboutit :thmbsp:

Here is my car 1974 corvette
Rybeam
07-22-2005, 08:02 PM
In 1975 I started with a 1967 Sunbeam Alpine loved it, reliabilty sucked. Bought a '72 Chevelle 3 months later, than owned in order a '72 Lemans, '72 chevy truck, '72 Dodge truck, '65 Cutlass, '70 Cutlass, '76 Cutlass than a 1969 Newport for 5 years. I changing in 1990 to a '69 Elcamino, I drove for 11 years, 3 on tree no power. All except the limey car were 100K + when I sold them or crunched 'em. I like to drive fast so I know wheel hop, rear end slides and extreme body roll. Automobiles that are scary at half the speed of a "sports" car. 3 years ago the bottom end let go on the Elcamino, had to have a car. I saw a SMALL car on a lot for cheap, a 1993 Nissan NX. WOW I love it, it is my "lost" exotic sports car ! Four wheel suspention, front disc, rear sway, overhead cam, fuel injection, 5 speed for $2500. Equal performance to a late '60's Austin Martin 6 cylinder for twice what that Sunbeam cost me 30 years earlier !!! The modren world is so cool, and all relative.
