At the same time that Perkins was helping launch rock music from his country roots, Chuck Berry's machine-gun guitar licks were reinventing the Blues as rock and roll.

This video is off of a British TV tribute to Carl Perkins. It has now been reissued on DVD. George Harrison and Dave Edmunds were also on the show. The most memorable part was at the end, when everyone finished playing as the credits rolled up, Carl Perkins was very emotional (in tears) thanking everyone who paid tribute to him.
