Tandberg TPT3001A

I keep hearing that the 3001A is one of the all-time great tuners, but I've never heard one, and there's nowhere that it's compared to anything. Has anyone here had actual experience with one compared side-by-side to any of the other "dream tuners"?

Got one sitting on a shelf that I had in rotation for a while. Wasn't impressed at all in its as received performance. Its gone in the, I'll get to it some day pile.
