Sandy G 07-16-2005, 07:39 PM The large Negress looks as though she'd benefit mightily from a large dose of Prunes...The other gal looks like a Proctologist's secretary...-Sandy G.
I thought she looked like Hank Hill's wife! :lmao:

We'd need to see a picture of her feet to be sure.
Sandy G 07-16-2005, 08:27 PM There was another one I remember, Nana Somebody. She was Greek, had these HUGE box-frame glasses, & was kinda pretty, in a "Strong-like-tractor" way. Made a BUNCH of albums back in the '70s-don't think she ever cracked the top 40. She may have been one of those "artists" who recorded "interpretations" of the days hits. Kinda like 101 Strings or something like that. I remember she always seemed to wear stuff on her album covers that looked like it was about 5 years out of date.-Sandy G.
Nana Mousorski or something like that. Recorded on the Fontana/Philips label.
hpsenicka 07-16-2005, 08:38 PM Nana Mouskouri.....
Andyman 07-16-2005, 08:39 PM Hit the bins at the thrifts and you'll find stuff that makes "Joyce" look like your favorite current hottie!
Nana Mouskouri...yep...that's the one! She had albums in the 60's. I remember that. Never heard any of them. Back then record companies always advertised albums on 45 jackets and album insert sleeves. She was almost always on the Mercury/Philips/Smash/Fontana/Wing sleeves.
Sandy G 07-16-2005, 08:47 PM Just hit me ! Ol' Joyce baby kinda looks like "Tootsie" from that early-80s flick, remember ? But yeah, I can see Peggy Hill, too !! <grin> Maybe the other gal is a Constipated Mathmetician & is gonna have to work it out w/a slide rule...OK, I'll go take my pills now !!-S.
Filmboydoug 07-16-2005, 09:11 PM From Wilkpedia...
Nana Mouskouri:
She is noted for her trademark eyeglasses. She has sold more than 200 million(*) records internationally, recording about 1,500 songs in 15 languages. She has more than 300 gold and platinum albums worldwide. She is France's number one selling artist. In general, her songs are known for melancholy, longing, and sentimental musings upon love, for which the emotion of her voice is exceptionally suited.
Also says she just released a box set of 34 CD's!
foetusized 07-16-2005, 09:26 PM http://porktornado.diaryland.com/albumcover.html is the classic on the subject, but some of them are really 45 picture sleeves. On the plus side, it does feature Devastating Dave the Turntable Slave -- Foe
Progger 07-16-2005, 09:30 PM And how about these? :D

OvenMaster 07-16-2005, 10:07 PM Led Zeppelin's Houses of the Holy to me is perfectly disgusting. I'm no prude, but jeez... :yuck:

Omigawd. I haven't laughed this hard in since my puppy got his paw caught in a chew toy. Classic stuff. My wife says "The information age is overrated."

clint e. 07-17-2005, 05:12 PM I allways like that cover,Andyman. :thmbsp:
OvenMaster 07-17-2005, 05:23 PM I remember seeing that one when I was a kid and wondered how uncomfortable it must have been to sit in a tub full of beans.

Filmboydoug 07-17-2005, 05:46 PM This has been posted on AK before, but I think it's worth a laugh.
mhardy6647 07-17-2005, 06:32 PM No matter how one feels about the cover, "The Who Sell Out" is a very good 'OO record. Y'all likely know the story of the baked bbeans... Daltrey claims that the beans were ice cold, and that he developed pneumonia after the photo shoot from sitting in them, freezing!
There's an interesting take on "Sell Out" called: "Petra Haden Sings: The Who Sell Out". That's literally what she does, apparently. Re-create the album, mock commercials and all, a la Bobby MacFerrin... gotta be interesting.

I agree, good album, but also a warning from Townshend. The prick!
Charivari 07-17-2005, 11:49 PM I believe I have a winner, The Worst Album Cover Ever, period.
I should note that the following link is Not Work Friendly:
Funny Van Dannen - Neues Von Gott (http://images-eu.amazon.com/images/P/3888973929.03.LZZZZZZZ.jpg)
Not even that Holst - Planets cover is worse, of that I am certain -- I have the 8-track of it.

I have the Petra Haden cover album, but haven't listened to it yet, just because I never really like the original all that much.
Sandy G 07-18-2005, 08:09 AM "Funny Von Dannen" looks like something a 14-yr-old hormonally enraged boy would draw...especially if he was a bit, erm, "ambivalent".....<grin>-Sandy G.
Lefty 07-18-2005, 08:49 AM My vote:
Beatles 'White Album' see picture below :D
I liked some the music, but the plain cover... give me a break... They did it cause they could without effecting sales, IMHO...

Drybasement 07-18-2005, 10:28 AM That Millie Jackson album cover takes the cake. I laugh so hard everytime I see that. What a classic. I wonder just how many Millie actually sold.

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: That gets my vote as worst of all time. It reminds me of that 'Jerky Boys' skit where Sol calls Jim's elderly mother, and tells the poor confused old woman about walking on the beach with Jim, and having sand rubbed on his "ass-nipples" or something like that. heh heh!!!
Filmboydoug 07-18-2005, 06:37 PM [QUOTE=CleveThat gets my vote as worst of all time. [/QUOTE]
Agreed!

Sandy G 07-19-2005, 04:05 PM Hell-o Fuzzy !! i've seen better looking 3-day dead corpses !!-Sandy G.
Sansui Louie 07-19-2005, 04:22 PM I'd have to go with the Blind Faith album with the ugly girl and the hood ornament. Eeew.
And some band that I can't remember the name of, but also had "Blind" in their name, who had a ugly bald green lady on the cover. Looked like something Capt. James T. Kirk would boink.
Isn't that Riff-Raff from The Rocky Horror Picture Show? :lmao:
