Hey all. I'm just about to get on the Pioneer wagon train. There's a C-21 at a used electronics shop near me. What's the going rate on these things? I checked the history at eBay, but didn't see any recently bought/sold

Thanks

I just saw one go on eBay for around $200 plus shipping.

The last C-21 preamp I saw on eBay sold for $300 including shipping on a Buy it Now; I'm guessing it would have sold for more at auction: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=5778695609 -- Foe

Thnaks Retro and Foe for the quick replies. I decided to go pick it up on the way honme from work. I was happy to see the C-21 was there. Turns out they also had an F-26! Score!

I even got a discount for buying both of them!

I never thought I'd need a manual for a tuner, but I've never seen so many connections on the back of a tuner before. Anyone know where I can get a manual (or photocopy) for the F-26 and/or c-21

I hope you are not kidding

The F-26 is one of the rarest tuners in the world and had a retail price of $ 1000,- in 1979.

Not kidding. Walked out the door with both units for $350. Now I'm worried I'll be spending as much time hunting for nice electronics in pawn and thrift shops as I do looking for music in used cd/vinyl shops

I really do need those manuals. Any suggestions?

I see the manuals on eBay every now and then, don't know where else to send you. I bought photocopied manuals for my vintage Pioneer stuff on eBay myself.

The last vintage Series 20 tuner on eBay was the lesser F-28, and it sold for $720.99, more than the original suggested retail of $690: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=5788201713

There's some good information at http://www.silverpioneer.netfirms.com/series20.htm -- Foe
