Artist: Ryan Adams and the Cardinals

Review: Ryan Adams has made some great music, and sought a less egocentric approach with this LP. The title Cold Roses should be "Cold LP." I find it bland and boring. The best thing abou the LP is the embossed cover. otherwise its a dull, lifeless work, and has none of the bluster of other Ryan Adams work. I guess he has a rep of being a difficult songwriter and bandmate and apparently this LP was a more collaborative effort. Thumbs down to the collaboration. Its another in the vein of Wilco but more monotonous, and no real highlights. It sounds tired and forced. Recording quality is good but overall i'd give it a 4/10. Bring back the obnoxious narcissistic Ryan Adams, the artist with an edge... Just my opinion.
