Generally I'm not a fan of greatist hit compiltions. I believe most great albums are the result of a creative period that distinguishes it from others. However, this LP is the best Neil recording I've heard. The depth and detail are amazing. The songs are well chosen and and generally grouped together. heavy influences from Harvest, After the Goldrush, and Cowgirl in the Sand. All tracks are great. Its my understanding that Neil was present for the remastering and was very picky about sound quality. Its light years better than both copies of Decade that I have. Supposedly, Classic Records is going to reissue other Neil LPs and I wil be buying every one! Overall rating 9/10 (only cuz its a greatist hits).

This is also one of my current favorites. Funny, I really never cared for Neil but this album really drew me in. Cinnamon Girl sounds so good the hair on my arm stood up the first time I played it. Awesome album!

i've had the cd for almost 6 months now and play it almost evveryday.you should pick up his latest prairie wind too if you want a treat.

yes neil is very fussy about sound qaulity it's a well known fact.too bad alot of bands nowadays dont pay to much attention to the quality of the finished product., its just alot of overcompressed shit that clips and distorts at even low volumes. go figure.

I've this album but on the dual pack - one CD disc and one DVD-V disc. I was a bit PO'ed when I discovered it wasn't DVD-A but this is better - my Sony DVP-S9000ES will play it just fine.

The DVD-V disc does 96/24 and sounds really good. Not quite SACD but much better than the CD. Bet the vinyl is even better.

Musically, the earlier pieces are by far the better ones although listening to the words is a bit depressing - so gloomy! Some of the new stuff veers off into political self-indulgence.
