Brian -
What's the latest on Cain & Cain for Lima? I just read this on AA from Terry, "Looks like the single BEN's will be playing at MAF so you can hear them there." Do you (will you) have a pair of the Single Bens in hand for Lima? Still bringing the Abbys? What's the lastest thoughts on which amps you'd like to pair up with the Cain stuff? I'm waiting on Terry's redesign on the TQWT, any word?

Hi MikE,
At present, it looks like both Terry and I will have our own rooms. Terry will be bringing the Studio Ben loudspeakers (among other things), and I will be bringing the Abby loudspeakers (again, among other things).
Given how inexpensive the Lima show is for exhibitors, we felt that it made sense for each of us to have our own rooms. This way, Terry can focus on his speaker designs in one room, and I can more fully show off the range of products that my little shop offers in another.
Regarding amplifier preferences, I'm still quite fond of the Consonance Cyber-10 and Cyber-30 as partners for the Abby, although I've found these speakers to be much more flexible than I had initially thought. I'll soon be trying out some new amps from Audio Note and Jolida that I predict will be stellar matches...
Cheers,
Brian

I have two words for the day, "BRASS RINGS". I will be bringing the single horns with the Fostex brass rings. These rings are cnc machined from solid brass and weigh and cost as much as the drivers themselves. Sometimes reffered to as "dragonfly rings" in Japan, they have been very popular with Fostex enthusiasts there. I was not prepared for the difference in sound. I expected better transients but these transients are most noticeable in the bass. The punch is George Foreman resolute, where before it was perhaps a good bit lighter. Still the difference in sound all across the spectrum is stunning. The brass rings are at present only available to the Japanse market. Iwill be dilligently finding a brass ring solution for the Abby as well. These were given to me by Fostex pres and engineers at THE show in Vegas. So if I can fit it all I will bring ElectronLuv and all analog as well. Maybe a tube output cd player by ModWright. TC
That's great news guys. Looks like the MAF will be my 1st chance to hear the Cain & Cain speakers. Brian, I'd still like to hook up my Moth to the Abbys, and Terry if you can't bring one of Josh's amp you're more than welcome to borrow my amp. MikE

I just found out from Terry Cain that he will not be able to attend the Lima show after all. So the Studio Ben loudspeakers will not be available for audition.
Rest assured, though, that I WILL be bringing the Cain & Cain Abby loudspeakers. I'll be showing them off using two or three different integrated amplifiers...
I was just at he MAF site and checking the list of exhibitors didn't see any mention of Terry. Too bad. Oh well, more than I really expected. I'm excited about hearing the Abby's with your equipment (and mine). I'll be arriving Friday around 2pm. After checking into my room I'll look you up and see if you need a hand with set up.

Dang Terry...sorry to hear you won't be making the Lima show :(
I was looking forward to hearing...and seeing the Studio BEN speakers...along with Josh's tube amp creations. You two seem to be a perfect match...two skilled craftsmen with a love for music/audio.
take care>>>>
