View Full Version : Convertible Show!
Back on Aug. 7th the woman and I jumped in the little blue wonder and headed down Rte 1 along the coast and went to the Owl's Head Transportation Museum for a Convertible show and to meet up with some other Miata fanatics:

We met a lot of cool people, we just wish we could have stayed longer. There was no shade so it was like the plains of hell out there ;)
Lots of cool cars and some cool airplanes here's the best pics:
Neat little Austin Healy, a nice blue Corvette (there were a lot of Corvettes), a replica of the Bluesmobile, a nice Chevelle I think it was and a nice little car with a cool dash:
Another nice Corvette, the cool yellow Ferrari was being auctioned at their big yearly auction, the little VW bug next to it was also being auctioned and once belonged to Jerry Seinfeld. Some neat looking old gangster cars, a super nice GTO, and a sweet little red car I don't know what it is.
I don't know why this purple hot rod was there it wasn't a convertible but it was damm cool. A little roadster something or other. A car that looks like a yellow boat, I think it's a Nash. AND the car of the SHOW we felt was this Black Dodge Viper. Man that thing was awesome, I love the body on it, it was was so much nicer than the normal Viper bodies and flowed with the car, And HORSEPOWER! Man you could feel it in your chest when that thing idled by
Now they also had a bunch of planes, I know we have some plane fans so here you go. The only ones I know are the Red Baron and the Wright Brothers replica (which they flew later on in the show) All these planes were constantly taking off and landing during the show so there was a lot to see
Finally my own little treasure, these pics were taken by a fellow Miata owner and posted on Miata.net. They are such nice pics of my car at the show I have to shamelessly whore them here ;) :D
Great pics Thor! Thanks for sharing! I love going to car shows. :thmbsp:

A Daimler SP250, a fiberglass bodied rarity powered by a small V8.

I almost bought one in the late 60's/early 70's but decided on a used Jaguar 3.8S instead. Yet another of my famed wrong choices.

Yeah, they're quite rare in their home country & here too. I've never even seen one except in phtos. Daimler was/is the outfit that provide cars to the Royal family & uppercrust class-especially the ones who can't quite spring for a Rolls. They might have sold more of these cars over here if they'd done more development work, & the cars weren't so homely.-Sandy G.
I will post a pic of me in it soon ;)

Hey there Thor.
I think the first pic of your ride is just terrific !!! I too would be showing that pic off to just about everyone - its a quality photo. Would make a sweet poster for any Miata fan.
Nice.
