HK T403 w/ passive preamp?

Hello all,

I have a Harman Kardon T403 tuner. I am wondering if I can use it with a passive preamp? The tuner has a fixed (2 volts) and a variable (20 millivolts to 2 volts) output. I'm guessing I can, but just wanted to make sure.
