Shame about the damage. Glad you found it, so you can rescue it.

Good luck, Gary. Keep us posted.

Poor baby! Must have been laying on the floor and got stepped on! Were the tuners still with it?

Oh yea...even the strings!...

I'm not shure if it was the exact model, but about a year ago I was at the local guitar store and I picked up and fiddle'd (pun intended) around with just about every one hanging on the wall even ones upwards of $1000!...

Then there was this little Fender squire sitting on a stand just like the one in the pictures...so just for the hell of it I picked it up and it was the best sounding and the best playing one in the store...I was impressed! specially for $149!..

Then another time at the local 'Guitar Center' store...back just before I got my new Ibanez...there were two of these inexpensive fiddles sitting on stands right next to each other ...so, after playing around with the 'Big Boys' hanging on the walls, I saw these and picked up the first one...YUCK!..just terrible. The sound was dead...and even the playability wasnt that great. Then I set it down just as fast, and grabbed the other one..and it was like night and day!...it played and sounded like the one I played at the other store...sweet sound and smooth on the fingers. All for the same price of $149 ..

Its amazing how much difference there is in the materials and workmanship from unit to unit...you never know how one will sound or play till you try it..no matter what the cost...

Now I'm just hoping this one I found sounds sweet..and not dead...

I'm crossing my fingers!...

I remember some of the old Fender acoustics: the Malibu, the Redondo. IIRC, the Malibu had a Tele neck, and the Redondo had a cutaway body. That may be reversed, it was a long time ago. I do recall that different examples had a very different feel and sound. That was many years ago, so things haven't changed much.
