Hi everyone,
My Marantz 2130 Tuner Service Manual recomends the use of both the 1000A and 1700A. Anyone know where I can get them?

eBay.
These are distortion analysers, and certainly not the only ones available, but they do have nice features such as a built-in signal source.

Hi Echo,
I'm not too confident about Ebay. Some of the horror stories I've read here are unreal! These 2 were listed in the Service Manual. I'm sure that there are others (newer ones) available today. I would rather buy new than used. Know any distributors ?
BTW. I do know that they are expensive.
Thanks
Ron

I'd suggest a very Hi-Q soundcard (such as an E-MU 0404) and a good software package (Rightmark, which is free, or Spectralab, which is not) and you will end up with a nice setup.

If you are planning on doing your own tuner alignments, etc., you should check here: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/FMtuners/. There are many threads on these types of distortion analyzers, soundcards, scopecards, etc. and their use for tuners, tuner alignment, etc. A very knowledge group of tunaphiles.

Done many 2130's. The 1000A is a RF generator and 1700A is a signal gen/distortion/AC voltmeter. I got a 1700B a while back for a couple hundred on Ebay. Worked great. The 1000A is highly regarded, but its still analog and FM only. Getting a good digital RF signal generator with Am/FM/MPX functions is a much better solution.
Just as a reference, the 2130's manual is full of mistakes.

You're right Punker. Some are laughable!
