Hello All,

I got my hands on one of these but it's in need of a stylus. Are they any good worth the effort?
The table is a dual 504 not the best but ok.

Or could someone recommend a better cartridge for this table. It takes a 1/2 mount.

Opinions?

Thanks Dave

Nice table, very nice cart. Original needles have become rather rare nowadays, though - apart from being not quite cheap. And I could imagine that the E/I needle would actually fit better to the arm of the 504 than the E/III.

Greetings from Munich!

Then if you want more just search 'empire' in the TT forum and read to your hearts content.

I have a similar cartidge, an Empire 845QE/D that takes the same stylus as yours. It came with my vintage TT I bought recently.

I bookmarked the page with the replacement stylus on turntableneedles.com. It's made by ASTATIC.

I think you may have meant this one, which is an aftermarket version and is meant for the 2000E series:

JICO is excellent for after market stylus replacements.
