i'm working on making a prototype style les paul, but out of solid maple and neck-thru design. Probably going to be something crazy on the fretboard and inlaid into the top of the guitar, anyone ever done anything like this themselves before?

Hi,
I am new to the site (audiokarma) and saw your e-mail about making a guitar...
A good friend of mine who recently moved to Texas has done incredible work with building electric guitars from raw imported woods and higher end vintage electronic components...he may be able to help you out with your questions.
His name is Jim and you can reach him at: jcashin1@austin.rr.com
Tell him that WERK from Green Bay sent you to him...
GOOD LUCK , Werk
BTW ask him to send you some pictures of his work

I grew up with a guy that made his own acoustic guitars... he was a cabinet maker by trade,
and made some extremely nice acoustics!
He had a voice like David Crosby... when a few of them would get together to jam, Wally (like David)
didn't need a mic to be heard! :)
Welcome to AK werkdlever! :thmbsp:

cool man, if i get stuck, i'll rifle him off an email, thisi s a crazy and foolish project, mostly because a solid maple neck thru guitar is going to ring for hours and hours, and also its gonna be MEGA heavy, but i wanna see how it will turn out.
