The screen is shrinking! Especially the lower bottom half!!! The beautiful long leg babes now turn into short drawfs with chunky legs ! Oh no.

Hi Angela,
There are no speakers next to it. The problem is that the screen is shrinking ... little by little everyday and only in the bottom half of the TV screen. Thanks for your suggestion, I may need to move it to another bedroom and try again.

Is this a vintage all tube set or a modern set? It sounds like an electrolytic capacitor is failing in the vertical sweep section. If it is a tube set it is probably the cathode bypass cap on the vertical output tube. You could also have a leaky coupling cap to the vertical output tube as well. The tubes associated with vertical sweep should also be tested or checked by replacement.
If it is a really late model solid state set throw it out and buy a vintage tube set. Those can be fixed! :) I'm sorta kidding.

Hi Rob,
My TV is about 7 years old so I guess it does not suffice to call "vintage"? It is made by Mitsubishi and I used to be a Mitsubishi fan, not anymore ! I can try to open it apart and replace the caps but don't know where the heck are they ? Guess I'm out of luck ... right?
